So some big news, this community has come a long way and grown so much. For that reason we have been working on some big changes in the background that will allow us to do bigger and better events!

We’re excited to announce the official launch of the Anthropomorphic Events Association of Ottawa. We are now registered as a Not-for-Profit organization (NFP) based on community‑driven values dedicated to building safe, inclusive, and creative spaces for fans of anthropomorphic art and culture and the LGBTQ+ community in the National Capital Region and its surroundings. Whether you’re a furry, a furry-ally, an artist, a maker, a cosplayer, or someone who simply loves expressive characters, you’re welcome here.

What is changing?
On your end nothing, this change was made to allow for the scope of our events to grow through better legitimacy with our vendors and venues. Additionally we will be able to sell tickets on our website for events to RVSP your attendance at events (free or paid meets). Overall the change was done so we could do more for this community without sacrificing anything on your end.

What is the Association?
A community that offers safe spaces for inclusive respectful socializing, A hub for creativity and self‑expression that supports local artists and makers, A host for accessible and all-ages as well as Mature events around Ottawa, An organization that’s run with input from the community. The organization does not tolerate hateful and exclusionary rhetoric or harmful behaviors. It is not profit driven.

1) Community Q&A Session Where: Ottawa Furries server chat
When: Thursday, May 14 — 6–9 PM
What: Come meet the board members, ask questions, and help shape the future of the Anthropomorphic Events Association of Ottawa.

2) Fundraising Potluck + Furwalk
Where: LeBreton Flats When: Date TBD
What: Join us for a fun-filled outdoor gathering featuring a community potluck, fursuiting & photo ops, games, and pickup for limited‑run Association T‑shirt orders. More details coming soon. Thank you for helping us build a warm and welcoming community.
